"Right, Click & Save"
Scott Heim the acclaimed novelist writes:
"Right, Click & Save" is brilliant and addictive in the best possible way. Marc Vallée's past photographs have been consistently inventive and aggressive and far, far more interesting than most of the stuff in magazines or galleries, and this new project adds a new facet to his work. These images agitate our ideas of originality and authorship, of voyeurism and vanity and absolute lust. Shown together, they leave the viewer disconcerted, a little horny, and ultimately numb."
Scott Heim is the author of the acclaimed novel Mysterious Skin which was made into a motion picture by maverick director Gregg Araki in 2004.
Right, Click & Save was a one off photographic installation held at the night club Anti-Social in south London. Marc colleted hundreds of images of young men from online profiles from around the world. What you have in each image is a young man holding a camera in front of a mirror, he has just taken a photo of himself. With the act of “right, clicking and saving” Marc “created” a new image by saving it to his computer. Issues of authorship and voyeurism are very much at play with these images. One hundred and fifty A3 posters were made and placed on the night club's wall. Once the club was open you had the juxtaposition of the images of the young men on the wall and young men dancing the night away. By the end of the night a large number of posters had been taken away by the clubbers and the rest had ended up in trash can.

hey man,
thanks for the comment. Wish I could read your blog. It looks interesting. What art are you working on?
Tambien, he vivido in Barcelona.
oh shite, I wanna see that show. that's fucking weird though. A while ago I did paintings of internet boy's webcam shots...kind of similar ideas in mind.
x Luka
